Prada in Makeup and Skincare Mode
Prada is embracing color. With chrome packaging and refillable containers, the renowned Italian brand is making its foray into the world of makeup with a focus on a line of 26 shades of matte lipsticks called "Monochrome." The texture of these lipsticks aims to evoke the signature Saffiano leather of the House. Within this unisex offering, you'll also find a series of highly pigmented four-shade eyeshadow palettes, with shades inspired by iconic Prada prints. There's also a foundation available in 33 shades, created with the assistance of artificial intelligence, and a selection of around ten brushes and accessories.
To develop this collection, Prada Beauty, under the supervision of artistic directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, enlisted Lynsey Alexander as the Global Creative Makeup Artist. She worked closely with Inès Marzat "Alpha," promoted to "e-Makeup Artist," to bring the colors to life both digitally and physically.
In addition to its makeup debut, Prada is re-entering the skincare industry by launching a range of products labeled "Augmented Skin," including a day and night cream, a serum, and a makeup remover, all formulated with adaptogenic plants.
In 2019, Prada confirmed its partnership with L'Oréal's luxury division to expand its beauty offerings in the luxury cosmetics market, which is projected to double by 2027 to reach $580 billion. Last year, the brand made its entry into the beauty world with the launch of the Prada Paradox fragrance.
Prada Beauty products are available starting from August 1st on Prada's website and Prada Beauty's website, with further distribution planned in selective retail networks.
